Belated Birthdayness (photo heavy)

So it was my birthday the other week & I'm not gonna lie it was fairly low key (for me). I'm noticing that happening a lot more with each passing year. But here's a few pictures from my week as I had a really good time!

 The monday night thrown together last minute look. This was about the 4th lipstick I tried on.

My housemate & I getting very drunk & taking pictures near horribly dressed women... 

 Tofu & Prawn noodles with duck Gyoza... heaven.

 My bessie Gayle & I went for lunch to Wagamamas & she let me decorate her nails with my new Barry Ms!

 I didn't get a cake. But my friend Bex (other Bex lol) who was born exactly 3 days later than me invited me over for dinner & let have a yummy slice of hers! 

 Two of the more obscure presents I got. I love Astroboy so the book really excites me!

We went out again on the Saturday & oddly I have no proof I was actually there! But this is my favourite photo from the night apart from the Blair Witch...

Halloween Is Coming

I've had an amazing response to these since posting them on twitter/facebook/instagram (yes my life revolves around social networks, its quite unhealthy lol) so I thought I'd show them off here too!

I did these on saturday & I love them so much! Not that that's stopped me planning my next set to match my Halloween costume!

Eyebrows the Internet

Due to the lack of places offering threading in Leeds I ventured to the original lash & nail bar in Leeds corn exchange. I have to say I did originally ask for my brows to be threaded but the girl who does threading wasn't in that day so the lady I was speaking to said she could wax and tint them...I was dubious, I really wanted to move away from waxing but then she said if I didn't like them she wouldn't charge me as she was that confident I would love the results! SOLD!

So I sat down in the beautician chair and she tinted away - at this point I would normally tell the person that I didn't want to go too dark as it freaks me out a little but she had already said that she wouldn't take them all the way black. She already had my trust so I let her work her magic!

While we were waiting for the tint to take we were talking about threading and waxing and I told her about the debarcle with my last threading experience at Glow. She was gobsmacked and told me that she did go on a threading course but just didn't feel confident in doing it and that's why she didn't offer it. She's been waxing for over 10 years and knows she's good at it - so why change? Very good point indeed.

With all tinting and waxing done she filled in part of my brows (part of my right brow just seems to not have any hair) with a MAC pencil. She also showed me how to do it at home too as I've never been very confident in pencilling in brows! I also stopped by the MAC counter en route home to pick up a new eyebrow pencil too *oops*

I'm super happy with the shape and the result, she really did know what she was doing and put my mind at ease. Would definitely go back and recommend it all Leeds ladies to pay a visit!

Don't Play with magnets

So on one of my regular jaunts around Boots I found myself aimlessly wandering around the make up section again...and happened upon the Magnetized nail polishs! (Promise I dodn't go looking for them!)

The colours are nice enough, though on these dark evenings I prefer brighter shades..y'know?

But then again I don't know how well this effect would work on brighter colours, can't have the best of both worlds I guess!

A work in progress

So I've been experimenting with nail art designs & techniques (in preparation for my upcoming course in college) & have posted a few below. However one of these is not like the rest. See if you can spot which one?

Ps I've also had a go at creating my first frankenpolish. It's sort of a mauvey colour & once Mattified with my Gosh Matte Coat looked awesome with these silver geometric tips (excuse my dodgy lines)

Everyday I'm Bubblin'

I really love the KMS California hairstay style boost foam/gel/other but I get majorly bored waiting for it to do its thing...so I time lapsed it!

It's not that long but it made me giggle so I thought I would stick it up...

Also, while I'm here I'll share my latest mani. Dior Czarina gold with gold studs to liven things up a little!
