Christmas FOTD

A first FOTD for me! I think the red lipstick went to my head!

The photo has been through instagram so it looks a bit grainy.

Make up:
Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Mont Blanc
Nyx Rouge Cream blush in Natural
Benefit High beam
Avon supershock gel eyeliner
Daniel Sandler Jumobo jet mascara
Mac eyebrow pencil in Lingering.
and Nars Jungle red lipstick

I've had the jungle red lipstick for about a year and have never tucked into it till this week. Just didn't have the confidence!
So I cracked it open on Friday for a night out and loved it! So it made an appearance on Christmas day as well :)

Hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hairy Christmas

Oh John Frieda, what magic have you created. Such a plain and simple box of hair dye but the contents just keep on giving.

I'm a big fan of Nice and Easy and didn't want to stray too far away from their foam colour but when Boots were BOGOF'ing the JF Foam colour I couldn't resist. I've had this used on me before - a couple of years ago in a salon before it was released into the home dying domain. I loved it then and I still love it now! The colour is brilliant, shiny, no patches and so easy to clean off when you get it on your forehead, shoulders, foot. Because I dye my hair black you can imagine the troubles I have had trying to remove dye from skin but this is effortless, seriously just one wipe with some water on a towel and it was off...amazing.

It's also a lot easier to apply than the nice and easy foam (sorry!) and you can feel it working. I don't know how but it feels like it's still foaming and expanding when you have it on, really gives me confidence that it's getting everywhere! Washing off is simple as well and there's a proper small bottle of conditioner as well, none of these sachets that are impossible to get into. Over all I'm tempted to give this a big fat 10/10...infact I will, I can't really fault this anywhere. So glad they finally came out with the other colours! Currently BOGOF £9.99 from Boots.

Pictures to come soon!

My Night With Marilyn

First a bit of back story. I recently had the exciting opportunity of joining a new network of Northern Irish fashion & beauty bloggers brought together by the lovely ladies at Sugahfix. We call ourselves FABB (Geddit? fashion & beauty? blogging? see what they did there? OK I'm done.) and I'm really enjoying meeting & talking to new people! Check out the various blogs and Sugahfix themselves on the blogroll to the right of this page.

OK exposition done.

Last night I got the opportunity to go to a screening in Queens Film Theatre of My Week With Marilyn courtesy of Claire at Sugahfix and I have to say it was AMAZING. Michelle Williams is stunning and really performs all of the nuances of Marilyn perfectly. The clothes & make-up are of course gorgeous (my only grumbles are Emma Watson's really obvious hair piece & spotting the lines of Michelle Williams wig once, but that's just my really picky eye, it in no way deterred me from loving the experience!). I really enjoyed meeting  Claire, she is so lovely. As are her mum & granny who also came down. Such a good night!

I recommend you go see Marilyn asap & for our NI readers check out QFT, great atmosphere, great bar and GREAT seats!

Why oh why?

Christmas present shopping means I can't do a haul post as much as I'd like (too many spoilers!). So here are some questionable items I've spotted on offer in recently.

Remember my confusion over knitted leggings? Well all is forgiven because I have a new enemy...
KNITTED SHORTS!!
I have no words. None.

Some other Primark 'goodies' include:

Fringe-a-geddon

Boot a la Russe ("I am boot from Russia, pass the wodka")

Velvet, feathers AND mesh platform. Tack central.
and from the ridiculous to the sublime
These are AMAZING!!!
Can you imagine these paired with my Rainbow Connection manicure
It would be like Christmas threw up on your extremities!

Thats all for today folks!

In the name of all that is good & holy...

WHY ON EARTH DO THESE EXIST?

At least in a fashion aspect. I have no problem with them being used in some hilarious interpretive dance situation. Someone please enlighten me?

Feeling Feline

I've debated whether or not to post this manicure due to its shoddy "did it last minute before bed trying out my new konad plates at 1am" application. But I really am loving it so it is!

I've been asked about doing nails at kids parties and sleepovers in the past. How perfect would these plates be?!?
