They say in time of recession the demand for luxury increases. People want to treat themselves as a distraction from dire condition of our economy. When we are buying items we want longevity & quality. And for that you have to pay. So they say. My latest haul from Poundland begs to differ. Stila tinted moisturisers, powder foundations, Sally Hansen nail polishes, class wee fimo nail art decals! And Thats just the stuff i bought! They have so much more in store. I'm very happy with Poundland right now.

Recently it was my best friend Gayle's birthday and we decided to paint the town. It's been a while since I've done a face of the day post because I basically wear variations on a theme at the moment (peachy coral tones if you're interested) but I thought I'd share this for a few reasons. The first being that I'm in love with my new Inglot eyeshadow in shine. It's a lovely subtle pink with a slight shimmer and I can't stop wearing it. The second being that Gayle looks gorge in her birthday outfit and new haircut! I was having a fussy clothes day so went for an old favourite. Simple but comfy. Lastly because we went to Rainbow for dinner. My new favourite place and this is my last stop in systematically telling the whole world about it! The food was amazing, I mean look at it (ok I wasn't too fussed on the sweet potato mash but I could eat the bang bang chicken every day). Use: Two coats till opaque, I gave it a third for luck. Dries well, although a good top coat will help reduce scoring and prevent chipping. Verdict: I really love this polish, I've worn it for a week now and despite my flaky nails coming apart beneath it its still holding up amazingly well,! As you can see from the above picture theres only minimal tip wear (did I mention I've been wearing this for a week? That's ridiculously good!). I've had some really lovely comments whilst wearing this and am reluctant to take it off. Definitely going into regular wear pile*! (Apologies if this get's a little ranty!) Let me set the scene... I've purchased a new pair of shoes from the Zara sale and I'm terribly excited to get an excuse to wear them. They glisten and gleam at me perched atop their box begging to be strutted around. I finally put them on and walk into town for some lunch and something doesn't feel right. At this point they have been on my feet for all of 20 minutes when I look down and see that the bottom of the heel has broken. I feel like the heel. Gutted isn't the word and I had to hobble to the nearest shoe store to buy a pair of flats as the broken pair have hurt my tootsies in the process. So, I retrieved the receipt from my drawer in work and took them back to my local Zara store on Briggate in Leeds to be met with possibly some of the rudest staff I have ever encountered.
