Quick Review: M&S Autograph Lipstick in Mulberry

The lovely girls people over at M&S have been working their magic again and have come up with a few ideas for this Autumns hottest colour: Purple. And with purple being my favourite colour to wear make-up wise I jumped at the chance to sample their wears. The following 2 posts are my view on the subject.

DESIGN: Simple, sleek packaging in standard black. The bullet is shaped to provide maximum contact with your lips. Nothing strange or startling from packaging but who wants strange or startling from  lipstick? The little coloured stripe you see on the left is actually a sticker which carries on to the lid so when shopping you'll be instantly able to tell if you're lifting an unused product! (NB: How annoying is it when other shoppers don't use the testers provided? So Annoying!)

USE: This is an Ultimate Shine lipstick so as you would expect its quite glossy, but not overly opaque. It takes quite a bit of build up to achieve the colour I have above but once its on it feels great! Is it just me that finds it hard to stop rubbing your lips together when they feel yummy & smooth? It took a lot not to do that with this but in the science of testing I resisted. As with most high shine lipsticks its not the most long lasting and wouldn't survive a decent feed (tried and tested theory right here lol) but that really doesn't detract from wanting to wear it.

apologies for bareface lol
VERDICT: I was a bit surprised that this was sent under the guise of "Purple is the hot colour this season" because it's quite obviously not purple in any way. Its a voluptuous Red on application and makes no apologies for this. I uploaded a quick Instagram when trying it out as I felt "proper sexy" sitting in my jammies after work trying make up on (we are Generation Over-share after all aren't we?) and got an extremely positive reaction with exclamations of "ooh what is this?!" Always a good sign in my book.
I definitely feel the need to check out other colours in the Autograph range & at £8.50 I only feel a little bit guilty doing so.

*This Sample was sent for review but all thoughts are my own*

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low
