Blink & You'll Miss It

We recently received an offer to try out Blinkbox . The online movie and TV rental service provided by Tesco. The unfortunate demise of both Blockbuster and most HMV stores in the past few months has made it quite obvious that people are looking for other ways to view their media. With this in mind, the opportunity to do something a little bit different for you guys and the fact that I'm an unabashed cinemafile, I gladly accepted the offer and sampled 2 films: Friends With Kids (I love anything involving Kristin Wiig) and Deep Blue Sea (Rachel Weiss is truly stunning in this movie & I love the 40s war time era for fashion Inspo!) So how does it work? Well, it's exactly like renting a movie from a normal video store, you get the latest releases far in advance of the likes of Netflix & LoveFilm online services. From what I can see they're in line with the DVD releases, maybe even slightly ahead, so it's really up to date! Once you've 'bought'

Mani Monday And A Progress Report

Hello Ladies! So before we get to the business of this weeks Mani Monday, Michelle & I have some exciting news! After our gradual re-branding Michelle and I are officially a dot com! So Bex's Fashion Tips is no more and Faeriwood is a go. I'm excited for this new time and we have some great ideas moving forward so stay tuned! Now on to this weeks challenge. I have been dreading this weeks brief of Metallics as I really dislike them from a nail art aspect. Block colours are fine but I just can't get to grips with them and getting any kind of decent definition was a nightmare, and photography is well... yeah. I actually tried out 3 different designs before I settled on a simple set of paw prints. Even now I'm not 100% happy but that's the point of this challenge, to try something out of your comfort zone. I found these Sally Hansen Colour Quick "pens" in Poundland and they're quite interesting. Rather than your typical pen with a nib &

Mani Monday Week 7

Hello Lovelies! Welcome to week 7 of our Mani challenge and this week the theme is Black & White. I have done B&W nails before in the form of the band And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA)'s logo. This time I went for a different aspect of my geekiness and attempted to do Stormtroopers from Star Wars. I say attempted. They kind of look more like INCA-angry-cat-stormtrooper-mummies. Check out the index finger, how much does he look like angry cat? I have to say I purposely experimented with these using a small fine brush rather than my usual Nail art pen/striping brush to see whether it makes a difference and, obviously, it does. I'll be returning to those for next time most definitely. Anyway! Success or not I like it and I've been getting some interesting looks in work today as people try to work them out from a distance! Much fun. Don't forget to check out Instagram for contributions from Gayle @kaspanda86. You can also find, me @faeribex, Bex from www.

Mani Monday Week 6

Hello Lovelies and welcome to week 6 of our Manicure Challenge and this week is Violet! Business as usual don't forget to check out Instagram for contributions from Gayle @kaspanda86. You can also find, me @faeribex, Bex from www.bexberry.com is @bexberrymua, Caroline from Www.reddutchess.blogspot.co.uk is @mademoisellerouge and Jen from http://jenlingyang.blogspot.ca/ is @jenlingyang. Be sure to tag one of us so we can see your contributions! I love purple. If I wasn't a dyed and true (pardon the pun) red head I would still have purple hair as I did in my teenage years. So I was excited for this week. I was doubly excited when I came across a pot of MUA's Fur-Effect Nails in Superdrug. I've never considered furry nails as a nail art exploit but as soon as I saw these pots I knew it had to happen. It's a bit fiddly to put on and the excess fur gets EVERYWHERE but it's so hilarious I actually don't care. I feel like a Muppet!! EDIT: I have to retract

Belfast Fashion Week House Of Fraser Press Preview

Michelle & I were very excited to get an invite to the Belfast House Of Fraser Spring/Summer Press Preview recently. Now unfortunately it was a bit far for Michelle to commute (this time!) but I, luckily, had the day off work and went to have a nosy along with a few other FABB bloggers! This year marks the first year that they have invited bloggers to a press showing and I'm so glad they did. I got to meet Grainne Maher of Pluck & Devour fame and catch up with Mark & Caoimhe from Benefit Ireland who were lovely as always! My favourite items are pictured below as well as the new Benefit Fine One One which is a nifty bit of kit I can't wait to properly try out! Favourite Accessories: Sophie Hume Mini Satchel £330 (a girl can dream right?) Neon yellow Pied A Terre bag £159 Biba Clutch £169 Pluck & Devour Pegasus Necklaces from £29.99 Stand out clothing lines were Linea (I love the beaded collar on this shirt), Biba (their formal wear makes me wish I h

Mani Monday Week 5

Hi Gals! And so here is another instalment of our Nail Challenge and this week is Blue themed! I went with an Essie/Miss Sporty combo and some cute ass studs! I really wanted to break out the Konad this week but oh my word that Essie is a tricky vixen. This is about 4 coats of blue with a mid & top Seche coat. Yes that's right middle coat AND top coat! So many layers I couldn't face anymore. As always don't forget to check out Instagram for contributions from Gayle @kaspanda86. You can also find, me @faeribex, Bex @bexberrymua, Caroline @mademoisellerouge and Jen @jenlingyang, and be sure to tag one of us so we can see your contributions! Ps check out my nasty winter worn cuticles. I am in need of a professional mani badly. Any offers? ;)
