S/S 2013 goodies from NYC, Rimmel & Sally Hansen

Last night I got to check out some of the new S/S Favourites from NYC, Rimmel & Sally Hansen courtesy of the lovely Fiona from CODY PR & Paddy from Makeup Pro Store. They introduced us to some new products and reintroduced some old faves and Paddy, who is one of Belfast's most well known make up artists, gave a short lecture on the new trends in makeup (such as blending different shades of foundation for contouring instead of using powders to keep your make up looking dewy)
I had a great time and have madly fallen for both Apocalips & Appelcious. You can see below I'm wearing Appelicious in Big Apple Red in my FOTD/NOTD. I'm also wearing NYC Big Bold Curl Mascara and Quick Drying Nail Polish in High Line Green (those of you who watch the voice may have noticed Jessie J wearing a similar green for the live auditions. Or is that just my obsession that made me zone in on them?)
Not bad if I do say so myself. Especially when you can spend less than a tenner for the lot!

Budget Beauty Brushes: are they really worth it?

I know what you're thinking. A second bargain beauty post in a row? Maybe switch it up eh? Ummmm nope. I love my premium makeup items, I really do. But I love finding a bargain beauty buy just as much, if not more.

Today I'm talking brushes. There seems to be an incredible range of brushes out there at the minute. Whether it's high end, mid range, or budget, there is something for everyone and there is usually a dupe (or shall we just call them copies?)
Today I'm looking at budget brushes including one of those infamous copies.

Unbranded EBay Brushes 7 piece set for 5.69

An obvious replica of the Real Techniques Precious Metal brushes and at first glance the only difference is that these don't have RT stamped on the side. The design, the colours, the shapes are exactly the same! I've never used the real Real Techniques ones but I'd have to say if I spent £30 or more on these I'd be hugely disappointed. Having only spent a fiver I'm really chuffed. The…

Something a bit lacey.

I've FINALLY got round to trying out these Nail Rock wraps. I've had them for months but it's just one of those things I've been putting off for ages.
They are really pretty and amazingly easy to put on, with the help of a hairdryer and a bobby pin!
The only downside of these are I can see them peeling a little at some of the edges already, but I type all day in work so it's understandable. Though a mani for me can usualy tough it through a week under the same circumstances.
Pretty, no? x

Leaving on a Jet plane.

Phew! What a couple of months it's been. I've done 2, count it, TWO! Full plays in 2 months on top of my 9-5 and girls let me tell you I am pure tired. So what better way to celebrate a week off work than a trip to ole London Town for this weekends IMATS!  After last year I can tell you I'm very excited and much more prepared for my IMATS experience. We are going to be a little less "deer in makeup wielding headlights" and a little more... Well just more lol. We're actually going to make it to some of the lectures & classes this time and we've given ourselves an extra day in the city to do some standard touristy stuff (no spoilers).  Ahead of our flight tonight I'm in full holiday beauty prep mode. I'm primping, preening & de-fuzzing to within an inch of my life. Part of this exercise involves trying out some of the new Superdrug face masks currently on offer at 4 for £3. They're definitely trying to edge in on the Montagne Jeunesse mark…
