A good old fashioned FOTD featuring NARS, Benefit & NYC!

This weekend I finally got my act together and cracked open the NARS goodies I got at IMATS and, unsurprisingly, I'm in love... Mostly.

Products used
Bourgois Healthy Mix Serum in shade 52
Benefit Fake Up in Light & Medium blended*
Benefit Hello Flawless Powder in Ivory (to set)*
NARS Multiple Brozer in Tuomota
NARS Blush in Douceur
NARS Cream Eyeshadow in Petula
NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Bysance
NYC Big Bold Curl Extra Black*
NARS Lip Liner Pencil in Hush
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Moisturising Lip Balm

You can see I didn't go massively crazy here. It's quite close to my normal "going out" look with the exception of some black liner and I can definitely see why the girls at the NARS booth recommended this set (1 of 3 available) for me.

I love purple eyes & this is a gorgeous shade of purple but I got a bit lost with the yellow side of the duo. My mistake was trying to put the yellow over the purple rather than the other way round. It didnt work, especially over the Petula cream base. Terracotta and purple just doesn't make sense to me and I'm pretty sure it was added by mistake. I'm not complaining though because it will be useful closer to the autumn when the deeper oranges come back in style.

Now for the rave. I love the Mulitple bronzer. I've never used a cream bronzer  before always being drawn in by baked golds & subtle shimmers but I can definitely see this becoming a daily essential, it's been my choice every day in the week since I put this together. It glides on & in one perfect sweep I have just the right amount to blend out and contour. It's subtle, not too orangey or brown. It stays put & doesn't oxidise on my skin.

I'm also loving the blush too. Just the right mix of dusky pink and a refreshing change from my usual peach & apricot cheeks.

One last quick note in order to leave the house looking vaguely summery I switched up the lip liner/lip balm combo in favour of MAC Gel. It completely changed the look! Much nicer & fresher for a day look don't you think?!

xXx

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low
