Urban Decay Naked Palette 3 - A beauty Trilogy

I'm a bit behind on my Naked collection. I spent the longest time convincing myself that I really didn't need the 3rd instalment of the iconic eyeshadow palettes offered up from Urban Decay.

"Rose tones? You don't need rose tones! You have cool tones and warm tones! Rose tones would be overkill. Ok yes your skin is Rose toned but seriously? You don't need another nude palette. Rose tones... Pah!!"

And then they announced the Smoky palette and once again the cycle of need began.

"Smoky? You're too pale for smoky! Oh alright then go and get the Rose palette. There, are you satisfied?"

I was.

The Rose palette is, quite unsurprisingly, a lot more pink than its predecessors. With the usual finishes including shimmers, mattes & metallics you have carte blanche to mix and match as much as you'd like to. I find this a little trickier to use than the previous palettes. Pink can be a hard colour to pull off when you've got ginger & green hair and blue eyes. I appreciate that is probably a niche problem.

Nonetheless I am absolutely enamoured with the palette. My instant favourites are Dust - a pale pink shimmer which I absolutely love (it reminds me of MAC phloof which is my all time favourite MAC shadow), Trick - I'm always drawn to a gold metallic and intrigued to see how this blends with the pinky tones of the Rose palette, and Blackheart - The red flecks throughout this black are beautiful in the pan and blend out really well. It isn't so overly pigmented that you can't use it in conjunction with the paler shades (did I mention I love Dust?) and it works well as a liner along the lower lash line. I'm also looking forward to experimenting with Darkside and Mugshot. I've been loving Gunmetal in the Naked 2 so I think this could be a welcome addition.

Naked 3 is £38, as with all of the Naked palettes, and I purchased mine from Debenhams thanks to a generous voucher given to us at their Foyleside Beauty Hall launch last week. I have plenty more treats from our trip up to Foyleside coming up so stayed tuned!

As for the Smoky Palette? Soon my friend... soon!

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low
