Organised Chaos: Bex's Ikea Beauty Storage

For years I've moved around every 12 months and never really settled; Because of this, I've never had a proper storage system for all my makeup and cosmetics. It was chaos. There were bits in bags and boxes all over the house, in the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. No wonder I've been stuck using the same products over and over. They were the only ones I could find!

Things had to change.

Enter the Kallax desk from IKEA. For years I had always assumed when I eventually got round to putting all my beauty products in the one place it would be via a set of Malm drawers. They are the ultimate in beauty blogger storage... Right? Not really. The more time went on the more I realised that, for me, out of sight is out of mind. I do not need stuff hidden away in drawers. I need things slapped in my face or else they may as well be dead to me. The Kallax was perfect for this. The open shelves and sizeable desk mean I can have a fully kitted out beauty station. A one stop shop for when I'm getting ready in the mornings and evenings. The only things it doesn't contain are my nail polishes (I'd need a whole new Kallax for that) and my bathing products (they'll stay in the bathroom, obviously).

As you can see from the photos below its still not quite there. Although all in the same place it's not ideal to keep using empty Glossybox boxes and lids as a means of product type segregation. The ultimate plan is to acquire some clear acrylic storage similar to the famous Muji shelves. I know, I know, I'm such a stereotypical "blogger"  but they really are perfect!

Now that I have everything in the same space I feel much more at peace with my beauty regime. I'm no longer running around the house to find different products and, much to my shame, I'm discovering products that I've bought but never used (more about that pricey habit later). And there I give you my little piece of organised chaos. It's been a long time coming.

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low
