Maybelline Baby Skin Primers and their high end counterparts.

When I was recommended Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser as a dupe for my beloved Benefit Porefessional I was instantly sold. I love Porefessional but I just can't keep up with how fast I go through it! I need an every day budget product to give my purse a break for a while.

Of course when I squeezed out that first blob my heart sank. This was no Porefessional dupe. It's crystal clear appearance instantly ruled that out. But it did have a very similar and pleasing feel and in fact I would compare it to Smashbox Photo Finish. This feeling comes from its silicone base and if you're like me and hate texture or stickiness from your makeup then silicone is your friend. The blurring and mattifying effect effect of both primers (I would say Smashbox wins with this so its not a 100% dupe) leaves the perfect base to apply the rest of your makeup or even just to leave on its own if you're not feeling self conscious.

Having dipped in to the Maybelline range (and with them being on a 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug) I also thought I'd have a go at a few other products. I picked another primer in Instant Fatigue Blur. This one is a pink toned cream primer but still has that soft smooth finish that you get with Pore Eraser. This time I felt the comparison was more like Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch, only this is more fluid and not as heavily silicone based. The rose tone definitely brightens up the skin and leaves it perfectly ready for the next layer of war paint.

Exactly what you want from a primer.

And now here is where I went a bit crazy.

I mixed them. Thus creating my own pink based version of porefessional and pretty much reaching my goal of a budget alternative.

You're going to want to try this. Trust me.

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low
