Christmas gift ideas for the beauty obsessive

Yes it's that time of year again. Christmas officially began in November this year whether we liked it or not. It makes a change from September though and we can thank a rise in the commercialism of Halloween for that!

For me winter is all about that glow so here are just a few examples of how to achieve that in these dull, grey, wintery months.

TAM beauty are killing the budget makeup game at the moment and these baked highlighters from their I Heart Makeup range are superb. I mean... look at it! This Unicorns Heart highlight is basic unicorn rainbow perfection and a proper steal at a fiver. Your unicorn obsessed buddies will love you forever if you gift them this beauty and for your more subtle chums there is the Goddess of Love highlight which offers a lovely peachy gold glow perfect for the day time.

Speaking of goddesses, for a more subtle glow I turn to Cocoa Brown for their Golden and Rose Gold Goddess shimmer oils. Yes these can be used as a full on body shimmer or a facial highlighter if you really want to shine out but I prefer to squeeze a pump in with my foundation which adds a wonderful healthiness to my pale skin colouring and the coconut oil makes sure my skin doesn't dry out too much. Now I'm just praying that they bringing their silvery Ice Goddess as a solo product so I can complete my collection! Find the special edition set at Tullys Pharmacy and get 10% discount until mid December with my code Faeribex10 (not sponsored).

Another TAM beauty here with the Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette. This is an oldie but it's definitely a goodie. Perfect for those who like to dip their brushes in more than one pan you can mix and match your highlights here to create your own unique glow.

It's not just your face that needs to glow here your hair and skin need love too. For my hair needs I go to Philip Kingsley (available in Marks & Spencer's). Like every other aspect of my being I will forever be combatting dryness so I opt for the famous Elasticizer hair treatment, the Daily Damage Defence spray and a Shampoo to combat scalp problems. It's not sexy but the packaging is.

And yes I did say we were loving our skin too didn't I? To fit with the glow theme the obvious choice would have been Pixi Beauty's Glow Tonic, and yes it is wonderful, but we're getting older, dear readers, and so I'm upping the game a bit. Alpha H Liquid Gold is the next level of acid based skin care and will leave your skin exfoliated and glowing. And it's totally gold so that's Christmassy... right?!

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low
