Beating the blues with #GroundDoesMondays

Monday’s used to be filled with sambucca shots and double vodbulls, now I’m partial to a chai tea latte or a caramel laiden hit caffeine. I’ve really been trying to embrace cafe culture recently. My friends will tell you that I’m always looking for an excuse to meet up for the chats over a cuppa. I am under no illusion that this is a substitute for my drinking days!

One of my favourite places to go for coffee is Ground Espresso and I’m slowly making my way through their ever expanding range of stores; the most recent of which is the new laganbank store in Lisburn where I popped in to chase away the Monday blues with my Mum.
Ground is the only place you’ll find me comfortable enough to drink a simple filter coffee. Their La montaña Columbian filter from Berlin, with its jammy blackcurrent notes through a chemex filter - removing all harshness from the coffee - actually suffers when you add milk and it’s only through my lessons with Ground that I can even begin to understand this. I drank it black with no sugar and I’m a person who usually needs 17 sugars and 3 shots of caramel in my coffee; but not here.

If you do need your sugar fix then don’t worry. There is an assortment of amazing cakes available including their new additions of Raspberry pistachio cake and Sticky toffee pudding alongside old favourites like their iconic Salted caramel brownie, Lemon drizzle and Snickers Almondy - gluten free and coeliac approved by Momma D - who is very discerning and a complete convert!
I’m hoping that she’ll join my quest to get them to open a store in Antrim!

Thank you to Adam and the team at Ground in Lisburn, and to Massive PR for inviting us down. This visit was complimentary but not paid or sponsored.

    1. Isn’t it so cute? If this isn’t a widespread option it should be. It was so nice to be able to switch between them.

  2. I've never been in Ground before but I am a sucker for Cafe's. They are just the best places to have a catch up and chin wag.

All the sweet treats look absolutely amazing!

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low
