Festive Gift Ideas with Emjoi Micro Nail (Review included)

It's almost that time of year again and unless you're the most prepared person in the world you're probably just about thinking about presents for your friends & loved ones. Well I have a treat for you.

The Emjoi Micro-Nail Electric Nail Polisher  promises a 2 week manicure in just a few seconds and it's really not far off the mark!

The set up is simple. You get 4 rollers, a buffer and a shiner (2 of each) and you easily pop them on and off for use. Then after prepping your nails thoroughly you switch it on, glide the rollers across the nail and you're done. Sounds simple but in practice it takes a bit of getting used to. I tested it with my mum and we both found it took a few attempts to get used to the speed of the rollers without it shooting across the nail. But once we got the hang of it we found it as quick as advertised.
Now, you should never use an abrasive on your nail for more than a few seconds (or else you risk damaging the layers of the nail) so I'd recommend practice with the smooth roller to get your technique sorted as you can use that as much as you like.

Here's the before and below you can see a few snaps of my mum using the buffer.

We found anchoring the finger with our thumbs gave more control when using the roller.

And the results are plain to see. The nails are lovely and shiny!

This is exactly the kind of item I'd love to find as a wee stocking filler. Is it going to replace my 4-way buffer permanently? Probably not. It's gadgety, fun and effective so It's definitely a winner in my book!

Available at Gordon's Chemists and currently on offer at £29.95.

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low

Hot Oil

Not of the olive variety. This morning I tried VO5 hot oil before washing my hair, I picked it up yesterday from my second home - Boots . I was a little dubious at first because it was only £2.18 for 4 tubes of it and I was thinking "hmmmmm, but theres an intensive conditioner over there for 8 quid and it must be better?"  NO, don't got for that over priced leave in conditioner give these little beauties a try first. Pop one out of the packet and stick it in a cup/sink of hot water for 60 seconds to heat it up. While it's got its feet up with a cuppa chilling out wet your hair  thoroughly. Get the tube from the hot water, pop it open and massage it into your hair. I concentrated on the ends of my hair as they are in the worst condition, then worked it through the rest of my hair. The pack comes with strict instructions not to leave it on for more that 1 minute as it's an intensive treatment it can cause irritation of left on any longer. So I was sharpish &
