An Old School Pedi with Sally Hansen and Soap & Glory

Feet are not something I talk about often, I don't have a phobia of them like some people but I'm still not overly keen on spending a lot of time fussing over them. For over a year now I've been using the Emjoi Micro-Pedi to look after my tootsies and it's been doing a grand job. A quick buzz over with the exfoliating rollers and a slap of the foot cream once or twice a month leaves them feeling lush.

That was until I handed it over to my mum in the new year. With all my various trips in and out of hospital she has been doing a f*ck-tonne (scientific term) of running about after me and I felt she needed it way more than I did. Trust me if I could send her on a weekly spa to The Merchant or Galgorm I would. I'm so grateful to have her.

Alas this has left my own footsies without their monthly treat so it was time to raid the stash and kick it Old School. I knew I would be able to rustle up the perfect pedicure.

I found the Sally Hansen Pedicure Files in Poundland many moons ago for a bargainous 2 for a £1. Rather than the metal cheese grater style tools that are available this is a double sided rough ceramic plate which exfoliates the hard skin and leaves it feeling smooth. You can really get stuck in without worrying about damaging or cutting open your skin. Most importantly it is easily washed for those hygiene freaks out there. Just rinse in hot soapy water and it is refreshed, good as new, very much like a Glass/Crystal nail file.

I also found a tube of Soap & Glory Heel Genius. I had gotten this in one of their Christmas Hat boxes a few years ago and had initially been quite unkind about it. Well I'm prepared to eat my Haviana flip flops here because the greasiness I was feeling then turned out to be just what I need right now. A little goes a long way and I put it on just before I go to bed (when I know I'm not going to have to walk about on my slippy wooden floors) and wake up with super soft feet. No more dry, cracked heels here. Apologies to the Soap & Glory folk, I got this one wrong.
