DIY Facemasks with Vitacoco Coconut Oil

It's become an accepted part of life that you cannot move these days without hitting a tub of coconut oil. It's everywhere; in your food, your beauty products, even your dental care! Coconut oil properties are almost endless with anti-oxidant, anti-ageing, anti-fungal, ketogenic, sun-protecting and moisturising being just a few of them! Yes despite being high in calories and saturated fats (which we are demonising less these days) this wonderful beast can do everything! There's a reason it's a meme.  For a while now I've been using coconut oil in my hair, my cooking, and as a cleanser but the lovely folk at  Vita Coco Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil   challenged myself and few others to create our own  DIY Coconut Oil Facemasks. Challenge accepted. Now the recipe they sent to some was a lovely lime jobby. It would have left a zingy refreshing touch to your skin but I've have a hard slog over the past few days/weeks/months an

Ready, Get Set, George?

Did you know George at Asda  had a makeup range? I didn't. I rarely pay to makeup displays in supermarkets because they usually stock the same old brands who I rarely wear and could probably cheaper elsewhere. I got the absolute shock of my life when I saw, abandoned on a shelf in the veg aisle, a bottle of George at Asda foundation. I was even more shocked when I saw the size of the range! There are at least 4 different foundations, all of the powder, contour/highlight, Nail, lip and eye products you can think of. They've even gone down the Makeup   Revolution road and stuck in some unashamed dupes/copies. I bought one that you see swatched below.  Their  highlight & define  is a an obvious rip off of Benefit High Beam and it does contain a really nice shimmer which lasts well. I also bought the Get Set  mineral setting powder and The Tamer 2 in 1 lash and brow definer, both of which saw me through an all day wedding with minimal need for touch ups. Ca

My month in film: May

Each month I give you a run down of some of my favourite watches. The good, the bad, and the surprisingly OK.  X-men: Apocalypse As April was all about Captain America and the not Avengers Avengers movie, May was all about X-Men and the ever ridiculous time/continuity mash up. I had little hope for this instalment as I'm suffering from major Wolverine fatigue and each MCU movie just makes me wish all other studios would hand back their Marvel properties with a silent apology. Apocalypse, however, was actually really enjoyable. Oscar Issac proved why he's having a great couple of years and the new cast held their own. Even the very short Hugh Jackman appearance was perfectly judged. There were a few niggles in the plot (J-Law's complete disinterest throughout, for example) but nothing that destroyed my enjoyment of the film.  There were no Marthas. Bad Neighbours (1 & 2) I went to see Bad Neighbours 2 on my own, in the cinema, in the middle of the
