The unexpected delights of Lidl Fashion

A few weeks ago I was given the chance to browse the entire Spring/Summer fashion collections being rolled out to Lidl stores throughout the season. Each week the stores will introduce a few key items so that you can build up the full collection if you wish. Nothing is over £12 (in fact most of it under £8) and the quality is pretty damn amazing with most pieces being fully lined and well tailored.  A picture says a thousand words so I'll let them talk for themselves but I shall say this first; These pictures prove the importance of proper merchandising in stores, they prove that you should never judge a book by its cover (or an outfit by its plastic wrapped packaging) and they prove that you'll no longer walk past those slightly unappealing bins full of clothes at Lidl any more because, I promise, you'll miss out on some absolutely stunning bargains if you do. Here I am marvelling at th

The chaotic thoughts of a woman obsessed or what I like to call "myskincare routine"

It's quite possible that if you've spoken to me in the past few months, or if you follow my Twitter and Instagram, you will have heard me talk about my sudden overwhelming fear of turning 30 this year and the resulting surge in my skin care routine. It's also the reason I moved out on my own, abandoned a significant circle of friends and left behind my "super party girl" lifestyle. ( The less said about the last two the better! ) This could be the result of years of gentle teasing from the family that the dreaded event was approaching. It could be a natural reaction to what I consider as the first major age landmark since becoming an "adult" (I was not adulting at 21, I'm sorry, even if swore blindly that I was). It could be Pop-Culture's, often confusing, obsession with youth (the mocking/praising of 17 year old Kylie Jenner for doing her make up to look like she is much older for instance. Because no teenager has ever tried to do that

St Patricks Day Breakfast Bacon Jam and Cheese Croissant.

I'm going to apologise in advance for this one. Because once we're done here I'm pretty sure you're going to spend the rest of your day hunting down some Bacon Jam. That's right. Bacon. Jam .  I've had this little pot of joy for a while now and I've never been sure how to use it. Slathering it on toast or a burger just seemed too simplistic. I wanted this one to be special.  Then this I remembered the tub of Just Roll in the fridge et voila, my choice was made.  Paired with some grated LactoFree cheese I stuffed, rolled, and baked. The perfect brunch for a bank holiday Tuesday.  If I'm honest the recommended 15 minutes in the oven was a minute or two too long. I'll know for next time because there will be a next time.  I have no guilt here. It's St. Patrick's day and like a good Irish girl I'm off out for a bout of day drinking. These were the perfect way to line my stomach and the leftov

To line or not to line? That is the question.

Here's a bit of a confession I have to make. And a potentially philosophical question (ok maybe not, definitely economical).  My name is Rebecca, I've been wearing makeup for 15 years and I really hate applying eyeliner.  Let's get real guys, I'm bad at it. I never perfected the perfect cats eye because I just get bored and I usually end up being allergic to pen or gel formulas and cry it off immediately. In fact the above makeup look was created without using any eyeliner whatsoever.    Can you tell? After years of frustration and in a mix of laziness, time saving and convenience I have begun to skip using a proper eyeliner in favour of a quick flick of dark shadow along my lower lash line and I'm not sure I should feel sorry about it.  Ok, yes. I am still "lining" my eye but I've found I save so much time by skipping out the fussy gels, pens and pencils. I spend far less energy trying to get the perfect line o
