May Catchup

I knew May was going to be a hectic month. I started back to work on the 9th and have been slowly building up my hours each week. Additionally I have been trying to get out at least once a week after work to try and get me used to long days again. This has involved a lot shopping and a lot of walking. I am broke and drained but I have pretty things and hope to show them off to you very soon. You know I like to be super thorough when I'm testing out new products.  I'm not complaining though, it's been an excellent month. I was very privileged to be invited along to LUSH Belfast 's first ever blogger event. On that day I squeezed in work, lunch with a friend, the cinema, the event itself and then a quick bite to eat in Five Guys Belfast afterwards. I'm exhausted just remembering it.  I'm determined not to overdo it though. Especially with June promising to be a very busy and very adult month (I'm becoming a Fairy Godmother in less than two weeks!)

Didn't I Tell You? Makeup Revolution Salvation Lip Laquer

I've told you previously how much I've been loving Makeup Revolution  recently. I've not come across a brand where I've like so many products with their ranges in a long time. That being said when I applied Didn't I Tell You for the first time I was slightly taken aback. I was used to lip lacquers that were a super highly pigmented matte or velvet. Even the high shine lacquers in other brands I've tried (I'm looking at you Apocalips ) were super pigmented. This offering was different to all of these, it actually felt much more like a soft gloss but without the icky stickiness that puts me off most lip glosses.  Now that I look back I absolutely love it and it is perfect for this alarming beautful Spring we're having. Imagine these lips having a nice cider in the sun? All kinds of perfect.

Spring Cleaning Bathroom Style

It's spring and we all get the urge to make a few changes and clear out the winter cobwebs. For me my source of unhappiness was my bathroom. When I moved in 18 months ago I was given a few hand-me-down bathroom items but other than those I didn't make any cosmetic changes beyond stuffing it with my many many products. Given that I spend a lot of time there (hello bubble bath obsession) it was time for a change. I looked to a few sources for some Spring Cleaning Tips  and I am really pleased with the results. My new bathroom is much fresher, looks a lot tidier and with just a few key changes is altogether a much more pleasant place to be. A good thing given that I spend so much time there! Anyone else feel the urge to refresh their whole home now?

Can you contour a round face? Sleek Cream Contour Palette Review

If you pay attention you'll know I have an issue with contouring. It's not the technique itself, which until a few years ago was used mostly by drag queens to make their features more feminine. It's more the attitude that every single part of my body apparently needs to be sculpted to look more chiselled, more womanly. It's an unhealthy mind frame. I've seen people contour their face, lips, eyebrows, collarbones, abs, all sorts of ridiculous places. I've seen them use powders, creams and even fake tans all with the goal of making their features slimmer. Because being round is wrong… right? Well I have a round face and no amount of "contouring" is going to make it look like I suddenly have concaved cheeks but  there is still a way to use this technique to my advantage and still look like a normal person. No, you are not going to see any harsh "defined" lines on this look. Luckily I found the perfect set to achieve my subtle glow. T

My Month In Film: April

Sing Street  I saw Sing Street going in knowing relatively little about the plot or the background. I knew that it by the same team who made Once, the now iconic Irish musical which has produced a stage show in both The West End and Broadway. And I knew that it was set in the 80s. I wasn't a fan of Once if I'm honest but that didn't deter me, neither did the girl at the ticket office telling us that it was subtitled. It was Irish, that made sense. I don't know what surprised me more, that the film was hilarious and brilliant or that there was not a pick of Irish language in the whole thing. Not even a Slainte! I don't where the confusion in the ticket office happened but I really hope it didn't put anyone off because they really missed out on a wonderful, feelgood film.  Harry Potter I spent a lot of early April watching Harry Potter on repeat. My NowTV trial was due to be cancelled and nothing else on the movie channels was grabbing me beyond the ded
