Not really a FOTD

but more a face of last night and more because I love how my eyes turned out.  I found my dior make up brushes yesterday & so was able to properly have a stab at decent eye makeup. Stealing a few techniques I learned whilst watching the gorgeous Bex Bryson work her magic at a fashion shoot on sunday.
So here it goes.

Face:
Benefit Play Sticks Foundation in Spin The Bottle
Benefit Lying Eyes Concealer in Shade 2
Urban Decay Bronzing Powder (obviously not very much lol)
Benefit Thrrrob Blush

Eyes:
17 pale pink all over lid
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Yellow Gold below crease on upper lid and framing lower lid
Barry M Dazzle Dust (possibly Lime I'm not sure as the label has worn) above crease on upper lid.
Avon Super Shock Gel Eye Liner in Black (donated by Bex from Once Bitten Twice Shy)
Urban Decay Skyscraper Eyeliner in Black

Lips:
Barbara Daly Lipstick in Icon

I used Urban Decay All Nighter to set my makeup as well as an accidental spritz of hairspray lol. oh well!
I think I've done this right. As you can see I'm still very basic with my makeup but it can only get better... I hope!
Bex

ps. speaking of that photoshoot how gorgeous is this makeup?!

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems.
This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take.

And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low Molec…

Budget Beauty Brushes: are they really worth it?

I know what you're thinking. A second bargain beauty post in a row? Maybe switch it up eh? Ummmm nope. I love my premium makeup items, I really do. But I love finding a bargain beauty buy just as much, if not more.

Today I'm talking brushes. There seems to be an incredible range of brushes out there at the minute. Whether it's high end, mid range, or budget, there is something for everyone and there is usually a dupe (or shall we just call them copies?)
Today I'm looking at budget brushes including one of those infamous copies.

Unbranded EBay Brushes 7 piece set for 5.69

An obvious replica of the Real Techniques Precious Metal brushes and at first glance the only difference is that these don't have RT stamped on the side. The design, the colours, the shapes are exactly the same! I've never used the real Real Techniques ones but I'd have to say if I spent £30 or more on these I'd be hugely disappointed. Having only spent a fiver I'm really chuffed. The…
