Controlling my mane

I'm a creature of habit, my hair washing/styling regime has been the same for years. I used Toni & guy shampoo and conditioner followed by their heat protection spray, blow dry till I look like an extra from a def leppard video then straighten to oblivion.

That was until the shampoo started to fail me and it felt greasy even after I washed it so I knew it was time for a change! I headed to the Liz Earle shop in Leeds ( mainly for cleanse and polish) and picked up their shampoo and conditioner for dry/damaged hair.

I've been using them for about 2 weeks now and they are absolutely brilliant! My hair doesn't feel greasy anymore nice and clean and shiny beyond belief! *thumbs up, cheesy smile*

I'm also using the KMS California hairstay style boost that was in my glossybox this month. It's also brilliant, it's comes out like a foam and then turns into a gelly liquid that you run through your hair. It's meant to act as a primer for your hair and keep the style for longer, which I tend to agree with. Also it is a heat protectant so no damage while I'm blow drying my hair back to the 80's!

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Etsy favourites: GrandmaThunderPants

I love shopping on Etsy and I'm absolutely in love with this Panda necklace I bought as a gift for my best friend. It's from a seller based in Florida called GrandmaThunderPants and oh my her store is amazing! So is her price point to be honest. I had to share it. It's the little extra touches I love when shopping on Etsy such as the foam confetti that came with the necklace. Too cute! (Or should that be Kawaii?) Don't you wish you were a zombie now? I kinda do. Find her as GrandmaThunderPants on Instagram or here on Etsy to see more. Grandmathunderpants Etsy

Am I Disabled?

This article has been going through my head quite a lot recently and I’m feeling a little self indulgent so bear with me. As a kid I was on the special needs list throughout school and given a classroom assistant to help with my tracheostomy care. I was considered disabled enough to warrant disability benefits right up until I turned 18 when they decided that I wasn’t mentally incapacitated enough and too independent. A panel of bureaucrats sat across the table and said “we can see you are but there’s nothing we can do.” I didn’t tick the right boxes. I’ve worked since I was old enough and supported myself as much as I could and excluding a few short absences from work I have been successful in that. Until now. Now I can’t support myself. I struggle with self care. I’ve had to give up my home and I’ve lost my independence. I’m back to getting surgery’s every 6-8 weeks. They were usually just day cases but the last few have been fairly severe with extended stays (I get to have ano
