Not Dead.

To anyone reading this I apologise for the lack of recent posts. I wouldn't normally apolgise for not posting as I write when I want to and not because of any pressure or need.

However on this occasion I do need to apologise because I didnt want this break. I have been experiencing some minor (major) difficulties in renewing our Faeribex.com domain and transferring to a new host over the past month and have felt that posting whilst no one can read is a little bit pointless. Unfortunately it looks like we still have a few hurdles to jump through to get it back up again but luckily we still have the old back up of our original nom de plume "Bex's Fashion Tips" so I can at least bring you this message! Thankyou blogger!

Instead of ranting for days I'm going to share a few snaps of my progress in my nail technology course, which is going splendidly, some recent filming and some others of clients nails, outfits, that time I met Scroobius Pip and maybe even a rare FOTD (I'm now makeup free 90% of the time!)

Oh, so much to catch up on!

Enjoy!

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!

We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you".

Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious ground up lea…

A hearty autumn meal and BBC Good Food Show Competition

As October draws to a close the clocks have turned back and the dark nights have settled in. Carved pumpkins are glowing on doorsteps and, as I walk home from work, the air outside smells of burning wood fires and home baked goodies; as if all of Belfast collectively decided that tonight was going to be as cosy as possible. I love this time of year.

In the aftermath of Halloween and the looming onslaught of pre-Christmas sales it’s easy to get a bit fed up of November. I mean what is there to do? And with no such celebration as America's Thanksgiving over here what is there to eat?!? Well thankfully there is still a foodie event to keep us going through what could have been an utterly boring culinary month...
The BBC Good Food Show returns to the Belfast Waterfront Hall this November (10th – 12th) and thanks to lovely folks at MCE we have an exciting opportunity which means that you could be seeing your favourite TV chefs such as Nadiya Hussain (Friday) and The Hairy Bikers (Sunday…

Scented Scandals with Filthy Velvet

"Meet me at the tennis courts by The Ramore" It wasn't long into our afternoon together that Karen, one half of Northern Ireland's newest candlemakers Filthy Velvet, laughed about the dodgy nature of our first meeting. It's not often that I'm asked to meet a stranger down a back street (albeit a very busy one near my favourite Portrush attraction) to then be led through stepped alleys and lanes back to their house! It's all a bit... Naughty. It's a good thing then that being a bit naughty is all par for the course for Karen who spends her days making and marketing her "Scandles".
With names such as Filthy Shades Of Grey, Sext Me, Me So Thorny and scents including Leather, Irish Black Stout & Apple Pie these Scandalous Candles have been giving giggles to everyone I've heard talking about them. "Oh I want VPL!" Said no-one ever before their Vanilla, Peach, Lavender creation came into being.
It's fairly brilliant.
