Lidl Fashion A/W 15 - My favourite picks

Those of you with a good memory will remember that I absolutely loved the debut Lidl Fashion collection way back in March (gosh that six months went quickly didn't it?). You'll also remember that over the summer I picked up quite a few pieces from the collection including a dress, some leggings, a necklace, and two maxi skirts which I have been wearing and instagramming constantly. It was a definite success.

So of course I was excited to see what they had in store for their Autumn/Winter collection. I was not disappointed. The collection is full of on trend items which echo last winters success stories. There are several Blanket Capes, bright Parka coats, and lots of knitted Aztec & Leopard prints. There are items for all occasions from casual to work to nights out. One thing that really amazed me was that there are also proper Chelsea boots in the collection and they're only £12.99! I shall definitely be grabbing those.

As with the last collection you really have to make a date with your local store on a weekly basis (a great excuse to do your weekly shop) to make sure you don't miss out on an item. They have a small selection each week that hit the floors on a Thursday morning and they do not last long. In fact there's a stunning Leather Jacket (£14.99) in today's release and I'm having a hard time convincing myself not rush down straight after work.

In a continued experiment with YouTube and getting back into moving image I have pieced together a short look book of some of my favourite items from the collection as well as my usual photography.

Please let me know if you pick up anything from the collection as I love hearing about the bargains you get! I shall leave you with what I wore to the launch as I do love a chance to get in front of a full length mirror!

A very crafty day out: Annie Sloan workshops at The Craft Loft

In Newcastle, Co. Down, hidden above Annetts Childrenswear is a hidden gem. The Craft Loft is the love child of Phyllis Annett who after years of helping to run the successful childrens clothing shop with her husband - his family's business for several generations - was looking for a new creative outlet; something that would bring business and life to the upstairs of their gorgeous converted townhouse.
And so The Craft Loft was born.
Myself and a few other Northern Irish bloggers were invited down to sample one of the various workshops offered by Phyllis and her family. Whether you want to paint a piece, learn how to decoupage, upholster furniture, or build your own lamps, Phyllis and her family have a number of wonderful classes for you to take all based around the use of the famous Annie Sloan chalk paints and fabrics. I opted for the Paint A Piece class because I wanted to start with the basics of chalk paint and furniture decoration but also because my flat is tiny and packed t…

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!

We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you".

Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious ground up lea…

A hearty autumn meal and BBC Good Food Show Competition

As October draws to a close the clocks have turned back and the dark nights have settled in. Carved pumpkins are glowing on doorsteps and, as I walk home from work, the air outside smells of burning wood fires and home baked goodies; as if all of Belfast collectively decided that tonight was going to be as cosy as possible. I love this time of year.

In the aftermath of Halloween and the looming onslaught of pre-Christmas sales it’s easy to get a bit fed up of November. I mean what is there to do? And with no such celebration as America's Thanksgiving over here what is there to eat?!? Well thankfully there is still a foodie event to keep us going through what could have been an utterly boring culinary month...
The BBC Good Food Show returns to the Belfast Waterfront Hall this November (10th – 12th) and thanks to lovely folks at MCE we have an exciting opportunity which means that you could be seeing your favourite TV chefs such as Nadiya Hussain (Friday) and The Hairy Bikers (Sunday…
