Lidl Fashion A/W 15 - My favourite picks

Those of you with a good memory will remember that I absolutely loved the debut Lidl Fashion collection way back in March (gosh that six months went quickly didn't it?). You'll also remember that over the summer I picked up quite a few pieces from the collection including a dress, some leggings, a necklace, and two maxi skirts which I have been wearing and instagramming constantly. It was a definite success.

So of course I was excited to see what they had in store for their Autumn/Winter collection. I was not disappointed. The collection is full of on trend items which echo last winters success stories. There are several Blanket Capes, bright Parka coats, and lots of knitted Aztec & Leopard prints. There are items for all occasions from casual to work to nights out. One thing that really amazed me was that there are also proper Chelsea boots in the collection and they're only £12.99! I shall definitely be grabbing those.

As with the last collection you really have to make a date with your local store on a weekly basis (a great excuse to do your weekly shop) to make sure you don't miss out on an item. They have a small selection each week that hit the floors on a Thursday morning and they do not last long. In fact there's a stunning Leather Jacket (£14.99) in today's release and I'm having a hard time convincing myself not rush down straight after work.

In a continued experiment with YouTube and getting back into moving image I have pieced together a short look book of some of my favourite items from the collection as well as my usual photography.

Please let me know if you pick up anything from the collection as I love hearing about the bargains you get! I shall leave you with what I wore to the launch as I do love a chance to get in front of a full length mirror!

DIY Christmas Nails for the lazy featuring Kiss Nails & Leighton Denny

Upcycling isn’t just for furniture. I’ve spent weeks searching for the perfect press on nails with a Christmas vibe but either everywhere was sold out or they just weren’t right.
So I took matters in to my own hands.
My goal was simple: Cheap, quick, low effort and sparkly Christmassy goodness - this ruled out doing my own extensions or going to a salon!  I took some Kiss Acrylic French nails, reshaped them slightly to give a slightly more almond curve than true round. I then topped with Leighton Denny Twinkle Twinkle and my a stash of Christmas decals that I’ve had for yonks; they came in a Colour Club set many many years ago - can’t we please marvel at how far I’ve come since that post?!
I’m going to point out that using five year old decals is not the best option, they were brittle as f*ck and a bit of a nightmare to apply but my mind was set and after a few attempts I got there.
To add an extra strong finish I cured with two layers of Gelish Top It Off from my kit - I wouldn’t usually…

Foundation Focus - Revlon Colorstay For Normal/Dry Skin

We need to talk about brand consistency. I'm a fussy shopper but I'm also a lazy shopper. What I need from a brand is the ability to, once I’ve found my shade, know that I can go across the products in that brand with the confidence that everything matches the same. Think Benefit Cosmetics brow range - I'm shade 3 and no matter what product I lift I know that I'm going to be shade 3.
Why can't this be the same with foundations?

Lets take Revlon for example. Now I still haven't quite forgiven Revlon for discontinuing one of the best foundations I've ever tried. Their Age Defying foundation was one of the creamiest and dewiest foundations I've ever tried. It felt wonderful on my skin and I truly mourn it.

I colour matched at Shade 10 - Buff for a tanned skin

And so I moved on to their Colorstay range. Colorstay was slightly more fluid and came in two formulas - one for dry and one for oily skin - but it was a bit of a nightmare in it's original bottle …

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!

We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you".

Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious ground up lea…
