The perfect autumn palette from Blank Canvas

Here's the thing. Ask me a year ago and couldn't have told you who Blank Canvas Cosmetics were. I don't know how but they had completely escaped my radar. Fast forward to 6 months ago and I'm obsessed, I blame this purely on Snapchat.

With the rise of the Snapchat MUA (the latest breed of influencer, someone who works by doing tutorials and demoing products almost purely on Snapchat) came an introduction to new brands and new products. It's been a blessing and curse (my bank balance has taken a hard hit).

One of the products I saw being raved about was the frequently sold out Master Series Palette One, or Master Palette for short. It is a beauty in the box. I very fussy about palettes and don't often like to buy without seeing in person but I caught a glimpse of it in real life during the Irish Beauty Show and I was sold. Unfortunately it was also sold out.

Fast forward again four months and I finally managed to get my claws on it. Oh my, she really is a beauty isn't she?

But is it any good?
The palette does have its negatives. Yes the colours are dreamy, the shadows apply like a dream and are easily workable but they're not hugely pigmented and there is quite a bit of fall out.

Another disappointment was the ingredients, I do not expect to pay nearly €35 (£29) for a talc based product. Not when I can buy the same from Make Up Revoltion for a third of the price.

But I do love this palette and there are positives. A contributing factor to the price would be the double ended Blank Canvas E40/E41 brush (retailing separately around €10).
Those wanting to dip their brush into the red eyeshadow trend need only look to Carmin. Those looking for a truly nude eye can look at either Brazen, Strut or Core (depending on skin tone). Finally, there is not a bad colour in the palette. All can be mixed and used in various combinations to create different looks and none of them will look ridiculous beside each other. The palette is one of the most cohesive palettes I've come across in a long time.

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low

The Ordinary by The Abnormal Beauty Company (or how I dipped my toe in to Deciem)

The Ordinary by the Abnormal Beauty Company ; If you haven't heard about this cult brand yet then you might not know they are hot shit right now and with their parent company, Deciem , being bought up by Estée Lauder they're only going to get bigger.   The internet has been a buzz for months now with beauty gurus far and wide raving about these high end products for low end prices. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw that there wasn't a product in the range that cost more than 8.00 quid!  So I joined the cult. I have to say that I was really impressed by the counter staff in House Of Fraser Belfast , they were friendly, knowledgeable and able to point me in the direction of the products I needed with just a short chat about my skin. I bought the Hyaluronic Acid 2% and the Niacinimide 10% Serums. If you have no idea what these mean then basically the Hyaluronic is for hydration and, whilst The Ordinary say that Niacinimide combats blemishes, I would actua
