Date Yo’ Self!

We’re only days in to February and already the Valentine’s Day hype is upon us. Every post on social media and promotional email pinging in to your inbox is full of romantic getaways, gift ideas for your other half, and over priced set menus; if you’re a commitmentphobe like myself then it can seem like you’re not part of the cool gang. Well do you know what I say to that?

FUCK IT. Date yourself!

Do your nails.
Get gussied up.
Shit at applying lashes? Spend an hour practicing! It’s not like there’s someone impatiently waiting and giving you side eye.
Eat your weight in holiday chocolate - am I the only one who thinks it tastes better because there’s less preservatives?
Missing your Netflix and chill? How about Netflix and Chinese takeout except probably not because it’s only Wednesday. Let’s not go too crazy! Still… You’re half way through season 4 of Weeds and Nancy’s cataclysmic relationship choices are making you feel much better about single life right now.
Ok, so the chocolate is gone, the TV is asking if you’re still watching and you didn’t get to first base but you’re looking glam, you saved a bundle and if you’re really lucky you might let yourself get to second ;)

Thankyou to Alex Silver PR for the Impress manicure and Kiss Products Lashes -  tune in to @Faeribex Instastories Feb 14th and join in with my pamper evening!

  1. I have an OH but we don't REALLY celebrate V day so we'll probably eat a nicer than normal dinner and then I'll follow along your stories while pampering myself lol

  2. Love it! Was following along your instastories, and just like yourself I spent it with myself, ate all the chocolate, watched some youtube and netflix and did little jobs here and there and had a wonderful night :) Even attempted some nose strip mask things? I don't even know but it seemed like a great idea at the time lol :)

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Etsy favourites: GrandmaThunderPants

I love shopping on Etsy and I'm absolutely in love with this Panda necklace I bought as a gift for my best friend. It's from a seller based in Florida called GrandmaThunderPants and oh my her store is amazing! So is her price point to be honest. I had to share it. It's the little extra touches I love when shopping on Etsy such as the foam confetti that came with the necklace. Too cute! (Or should that be Kawaii?) Don't you wish you were a zombie now? I kinda do. Find her as GrandmaThunderPants on Instagram or here on Etsy to see more. Grandmathunderpants Etsy

Shazam! Movie Review

I’m living in a world where I’m still excited after coming out of a DC movie and, honestly, it’s about damn time! Having been frustrated with the recent Aquaman and Wonder Woman movies who were supposed to be game changers for DC but ended up delivering nothing but clichéd tropes, lazy joke writing, laughable CGI; albeit with a slightly lighter tone than their usual dark and dreary aesthetic. I was nervous about Shazam but ready to accept my usual “It’s a good mindless watch but needs more fun” opinion. For the most part my normal quibbles have been ironed out and the fun is plentiful! Shazam is packed full of genuinely funny jokes, there are true surprises in the story which, unless you’ve read the comics, you would have no clue from any of the promotional materials. Zachary Levi, who has long been one of my favourite cult/nerdy actors, brings his usual charisma and charm to the role and you have no issue believing that this is a 15 year old kid who is stoked to have these life chan
