Calm by Ciara Moore: 5 reasons to get Calm.

When I was offered the chance to visit Calm Massage and Beauty in Randalstown, it came at exactly the right time. I was smack bang in the middle of a series of stressful and invasive hospital appointments and I needed some calm in my life. It sounds trite but it’s true.

Honestly I’m so glad I went. Ciara herself is so lovely and I loved the atmosphere in the small two room salon, situated on Randalstown Main Street, just half an hour outside Belfast. Here are a few reasons to make the trip.

Ciara herself
We chatted for quite a while after my appointment was finished and I loved how enthusiastic Ciara was about doing the best for her clients. Whether it was choosing products that she really believed in, supporting other female led businesses around Northern Ireland, training in services that could potentially be life changing - more on that later - She has great hands and a great heart too.

Neal’s Yard
I’ve never had a facial using Neals Yard before and I came of the salon with a bit of a shopping list as I was hooked on the amazing scents. Using a mix of their ranges, including their Deliciously Ella range, she tailors the facial to your skin leaving it lovely and soft. And as it isn’t a cosmeceutical range there is no down time or recovery.

The Floopiness.
I’ve talked about Ciara as a person but let’s talk about those skills too! Apart from the fact that she carried out THE most delicate mascara removal I’ve ever witnessed “to take care of the skin” during the facial; she was also able to knock out the many stress knots I have during the massage. I walked out of the salon with that gorgeous loose feeling I like to call, Floopy.

She cares for women
As we talked about the business and the services she offered, Ciara began talking about fertility treatments and how she really wanted to help women through what it a very difficult time. Ciara talks about her own experiences on her own blog and why she is passionate about offering the services.

Calm Triple Treat
Featuring a deluxe facial and a full back, neck, and shoulder massage plus a manicure; priced at 99.00. The third part of the treat takes place in her fabulous custom manicure station which you can see below - as a Nail Technician I have so much station envy. Ciara has generously given me a number of 50.00 vouchers towards the Triple Treat for my readers, so if you would like to experience at more than 50% discount then give me a comment below or a message and I will send you a voucher - there are plenty still available so don't be shy!

Bonus Points!
I mentioned that I was invited to Calm by the fabulous OhhSocial team, well they have a number of 'Buy One Get One' offers available on the app, I was treated to the Deluxe Duo which included the deluxe facial and a full back, neck, and shoulder massage but with the app you also get a discounted future service and a little bag of goodies to take home! Bliss!

Thankyou to Ciara and Ohh Social for this ohh so delightful treat!

Five (ish) products I’m loving from the The Body Shop

Entering your teens in the nineties basically meant you were obsessed with three things: Glitter hair mascara, Adidas poppers, and The Body Shop White Musk perfume. Honestly, if you added a Fruit of the loom t-shirt, an elastic swirly arm band tattoo, a bhindi - no one knew the meaning of the phrase 'cultural appropriation' back then but I was very in to spiritualism and the third eye - and a dozen teeny tiny multicoloured butterfly clips you would have an actual picture of me.
Sitting here, days before we enter 2019 where I will turn THIRTY FOUR, all of these trends are vengefully back with the exception of the t-shirts - poor Fruit of the Loom - but theres only one that I will be partaking of and that is rediscovering my love for The Body Shop. Although if you handed me some glittery butterfly clips I would absolutely wear those.
With my rediscovered love of TBS I have thrown myself in to building up a collection. I love that I can buy, guilt free, knowing that they are cruelt…

Faeriwood Eats: Wolf & Devour, gluten free dining done right

I get asked a lot about how people can go about promoting their businesses and whilst it is a huge question one of the things I will always recommend is social media and Instagram. I love it. I've discovered so many good restaurants while browsing hashtags and local accounts. Recently I was scrolling through #Glutenfreebelfast and spotted five glorious words.
Gluten. Free. Mac'n'Cheese. Balls.
Cue heavy breathing.
It wasn't until we were sitting down in the small but gorgeously laid out premises - think modern cantina with industrial and urban garden accents - that I realised I've actually seen the Wolf & Devour food truck around festivals and fairs but I had always assumed, being full of all things bready, that they were just a no go for little old Coeliac me. Knowing that they had at least this one gf item on the menu gave me the confidence to go and visit their Ballyhackamore restaurant as soon as I physically could.
Still, when we sat down to order, I involu…

Budget Beauty Brushes: are they really worth it?

I know what you're thinking. A second bargain beauty post in a row? Maybe switch it up eh? Ummmm nope. I love my premium makeup items, I really do. But I love finding a bargain beauty buy just as much, if not more.

Today I'm talking brushes. There seems to be an incredible range of brushes out there at the minute. Whether it's high end, mid range, or budget, there is something for everyone and there is usually a dupe (or shall we just call them copies?)
Today I'm looking at budget brushes including one of those infamous copies.

Unbranded EBay Brushes 7 piece set for 5.69

An obvious replica of the Real Techniques Precious Metal brushes and at first glance the only difference is that these don't have RT stamped on the side. The design, the colours, the shapes are exactly the same! I've never used the real Real Techniques ones but I'd have to say if I spent £30 or more on these I'd be hugely disappointed. Having only spent a fiver I'm really chuffed. The…
