New Product Alert: Benefit Roller Lash

It's a cold Tuesday night and I'm being led towards the back of a lorry in a deserted car park. No this isn't the beginning of every slasher movie ever made, this is the top secret launch of a new Benefit Cosmetics product.

Inside we are greeted with a much friendlier scenario. The truck is decorated as a cute kitschy salon as only Benefit could do. We are greeted with non-alcoholic wine, nibbles and the opportunity to coo over the awesome light fixtures.

We're also surrounded by these giant brushes..

And then the penny drops!

Roller Lash is Benefits answer to the problem of How do you top the best selling Mascara in the world when you're the one that makes it?! Well you make it do everything it's older sister doesn't do!

So what does it promise?

• Specially designed curved brush with 2 types of bristles for both your upper and lower lashes. And no spikey ball.
• A new formula designed to increase the curl of even the straightest lashes! Because brush alone does not a curl make.
• Vitamin B enriched to nourish your lashes - let's face make up isn't always good for you, every little bit of extra nourishment always helps.
• Easy to remove! Unlike its predecessor they promise that Roller Lash is super easy to remove. No more scrubbing late into the night.

After a fab demonstration and presentation from the lovely Mark, lead makeup artist and self described "Voice of Benefit", we were able to mingle with the whole team, test out a number of their other new products and spend more time marvelling at the decor.

Seriously though... These cusions!!

As we left we were given goodie bags with both Roller Lash itself and Puff Off, an under eye cream released at the end of Jan. Super generous and in this class wee Makeup bag. Thankyou to everyone at Benefit Ireland for such a lovely evening!

So after a few days wear what am I thinking?

Well as you can clearly see it works. Ok my lashes aren't as super curly as you would get with a heated curler or some LVL extensions but there is a definite uplift and I can actually (weirdly?) feel the difference. No camera tricks here just me and my iPhone 6 cam taking stealthy photos in work on an otherwise makeup free face.

Sold on it yet? I am.

Roller Lash hits stores on February 28th. Set your reminders now!

A Star Is Born

Lady Gaga is an absolute star.

Before, during, and I dare say after, A Star Is Born I have loved Gaga. There’s a narrative going about during their press junket that Bradley Cooper had to push hard to get film execs on board with casting Gaga as Ally in the latest adaption and, if true, that bugs me because having seen it I genuinely feel that there is no one else that could have played her. Ally’s character has clearly been moulded around her talents - as with Barbara we have abandoned the movie star goals focussing solely on music - and I would love to know exactly how much was changed or added after casting. Bradley Coopers’ Jackson Maine cuts more of a sympathetic character than we’ve seen in previous versions of A Star Is Born, right back to the original 1937 film which inspires some of the more selfless themes in the 2018 reboot, so much so that it makes you wonder who the film is really about.

The women of A Star Is Born have always been iconic and Lady Gaga’s portrayal takes n…

Monday mane-tenance

You may roll your eyes at the, painfully, alliterative title but I was really proud of that when I thought it up at stupid o’clock last night. After close to a decade of blogging in some form or another it gets hard to come up with these things!

As you might have guessed we’re here today today to talk about my Monday night hair ritual. You’ve heard of Skincare Sunday, well this Monday Mane-tenance. Every week - pretty much - I give my hair a loving boost with some form of deep treatment. My current favourite combo - in an effort to try and keep my colour between hairdresser appointments - is the Clairol Colour Booster in copper and the infamous £1 Argan Oil hair mask available from Poundland.

There are a number of colour boosters on the market at the minute. I had been toying with buying the Maria Nila luminous colour masques on the Sally’s website when I came across the Clairol version in store in Superdrug. Half the price and right in front of my face. Just how I like it. I’ve bee…

Belfast Fashion Week House Of Fraser Press Preview

Michelle & I were very excited to get an invite to the Belfast House Of Fraser Spring/Summer Press Preview recently. Now unfortunately it was a bit far for Michelle to commute (this time!) but I, luckily, had the day off work and went to have a nosy along with a few other FABB bloggers!
This year marks the first year that they have invited bloggers to a press showing and I'm so glad they did. I got to meet Grainne Maher of Pluck & Devour fame and catch up with Mark & Caoimhe from Benefit Ireland who were lovely as always!
My favourite items are pictured below as well as the new Benefit Fine One One which is a nifty bit of kit I can't wait to properly try out!

Favourite Accessories:
Sophie Hume Mini Satchel £330 (a girl can dream right?)
Neon yellow Pied A Terre bag £159
Biba Clutch £169
Pluck & Devour Pegasus Necklaces from £29.99

Stand out clothing lines were Linea (I love the beaded collar on this shirt), Biba (their formal wear makes me wish I had a ball to…
