New Product Alert: Benefit Roller Lash

It's a cold Tuesday night and I'm being led towards the back of a lorry in a deserted car park. No this isn't the beginning of every slasher movie ever made, this is the top secret launch of a new Benefit Cosmetics product.

Inside we are greeted with a much friendlier scenario. The truck is decorated as a cute kitschy salon as only Benefit could do. We are greeted with non-alcoholic wine, nibbles and the opportunity to coo over the awesome light fixtures.

We're also surrounded by these giant brushes..

And then the penny drops!

Roller Lash is Benefits answer to the problem of How do you top the best selling Mascara in the world when you're the one that makes it?! Well you make it do everything it's older sister doesn't do!

So what does it promise?

• Specially designed curved brush with 2 types of bristles for both your upper and lower lashes. And no spikey ball.
• A new formula designed to increase the curl of even the straightest lashes! Because brush alone does not a curl make.
• Vitamin B enriched to nourish your lashes - let's face make up isn't always good for you, every little bit of extra nourishment always helps.
• Easy to remove! Unlike its predecessor they promise that Roller Lash is super easy to remove. No more scrubbing late into the night.

After a fab demonstration and presentation from the lovely Mark, lead makeup artist and self described "Voice of Benefit", we were able to mingle with the whole team, test out a number of their other new products and spend more time marvelling at the decor.

Seriously though... These cusions!!

As we left we were given goodie bags with both Roller Lash itself and Puff Off, an under eye cream released at the end of Jan. Super generous and in this class wee Makeup bag. Thankyou to everyone at Benefit Ireland for such a lovely evening!

So after a few days wear what am I thinking?

Well as you can clearly see it works. Ok my lashes aren't as super curly as you would get with a heated curler or some LVL extensions but there is a definite uplift and I can actually (weirdly?) feel the difference. No camera tricks here just me and my iPhone 6 cam taking stealthy photos in work on an otherwise makeup free face.

Sold on it yet? I am.

Roller Lash hits stores on February 28th. Set your reminders now!

Matcha Madness: The Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

My name is Bex and I am a mask addict! I love masks. Cream, clay, mud, peeling, sheet, cellulose, nourishing... you name it and I love it! I recently spent an evening with the amazing staff from The Body Shop Belfast learning about all their key products and celebrating their cruelty free status and at the end of the night I was very kindly gifted their Japanese Matcha Tea pollution clearing mask - I was delighted!  We all know that the world has gone Matcha crazy but beyond an occasional frappe from a well known coffee house my main experiences have been with Matcha flavour cakes from my local asian supermarket. They are seriously amazing and the lightest sponge I've ever eaten but it doesn't exactly scream "good for you". Thankfully, apart from being seriously tasty Matcha is ridiculously good for you. Traditionally brewed as a simple green tea it is packed full of antioxidants - 10 times the amount in normal green teas as you are consuming the precious groun

Ophrys Skincare

If you have been following my blogs and social media you will have seen that I am currently partnering with Therapie Clinics and trying out their range of specialist facials to try and improve my skin. Alongside the facials (my second of which is coming up in April!) I have really tried to up my game with my skin care. Rather than just slapping everything that says hydration on I am really trying to target specific areas and problems. This has not been without it's troubles as my sensitive skin tries to adjust to this higher level of care. As a result of this - and a few other internal factors - I have been experiencing a few more breakouts than normal but I have been coping with them better. It's all about the give and take. And when it comes to the 'give' I was very lucky to be approached by Ophrys Skincare to talk about their new range of low molecular hyaluronic skincare with their patented Mini-Hax particle. "Low Ma-what?" I hear you say? Well... Low

The Ordinary by The Abnormal Beauty Company (or how I dipped my toe in to Deciem)

The Ordinary by the Abnormal Beauty Company ; If you haven't heard about this cult brand yet then you might not know they are hot shit right now and with their parent company, Deciem , being bought up by Estée Lauder they're only going to get bigger.   The internet has been a buzz for months now with beauty gurus far and wide raving about these high end products for low end prices. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw that there wasn't a product in the range that cost more than 8.00 quid!  So I joined the cult. I have to say that I was really impressed by the counter staff in House Of Fraser Belfast , they were friendly, knowledgeable and able to point me in the direction of the products I needed with just a short chat about my skin. I bought the Hyaluronic Acid 2% and the Niacinimide 10% Serums. If you have no idea what these mean then basically the Hyaluronic is for hydration and, whilst The Ordinary say that Niacinimide combats blemishes, I would actua
